SHOP TOUR

At present, my shop is under construction, as it was a part-time summer outdoor shop.

I should have the shop finished (or at least temporarily workable) and hammers in full swing by the beginning of January.

Still a work in progress - Give me a week.

Front Door:

The front door to any shop should be welcoming and inviting, and should say something about what's inside. Hopefully this door will do the trick. There will be ferrocement walls, and a metal sign showing an anvil and hammer (my logo) on the front. Still debating whether to install a window or not.

The shop interior:

The shop opens up to a work area, which will be cordoned off with a rope, where visitors will be invited to watch the blackmith working, or giving a short demo. Then step through a door on the left into a well decorated barn full of items and goods for sale. I also plan to collaborate with a potter, a glass blower, a leather worker, a weaver, and other craft artists to create a complete one-stop tour of a colonial period craft villiage. All items will be hand crafted onsite and sold in the store.

There will be a coal forge and a step/trip hammer for demo purposes.

A gas forge and induction forge will also be there to speed up work, but not used for demos.
